I started my second playthrough of Rebirth today. I am counting the number of times Claire's name is spoken. I just have to, after seeing that four minute long video of all(?) the times Veigue says her name throughout the game. But! I am also counting the number of times anyone else says her name, so that I can compare them once I beat the game again. And the number of times Saleh makes me make a stupid smile because of hairflickingorwhatever (yes, I am thinking I must count how many times Lion does this on Lion Side once I replay ToDR too) or clapping or random Engrish or whatever else. So far:
KUREAAAAA count (Veigue): 40
Claire count (anyone else): 28
Saleh Fabulous count: 7

The flashback was totally way earlier but it still creeps me out when I remember how... how normal Veigue was (the way his voice sounds especially) before he zapped Claire. And cod, I wish I had known how badass Gen'eijin was in ToDR before I ever played ToR. Then maybe I'd get the hint and realize that hey, maybe Genryuuzan is similar. Instead of you know dying constantly my whole first playthrough (well, I'm still doing a lot of that, but things are definitely better) and deciding that Veigue was too slow for me so that I must be noisy noisy Tytree. And the current totals (I'm just before the fight before Hilda joins) are... KUREAAAA: 71. Claire: 47. Saleh is fabulous: 9. Fucking creepy screaming noises: 2.

I forgot how many little things there were about this game that I liked. Somehow. Even though I only played it for the first time last December...ish. Minor things I liked:
• When you go back to Anikamal after the Oasis, the people are like throwing rocks at everyone, and they're just... standing there. Totally sure I saw Annie get smacked in the head a few times, too.
• Font size usage! Starts tiny, gradually gets larger. Annie is being sheepish and would like to get your attention. 「。。。あの。。。」「あの。。。」「。。。ありがとう」 Isn't that cute?
• So, clearing rocks after meeting Donnel in the Climber's Cavern. After I blew up the last one, another started falling, so I moved toward the shadow so I could kill it immediately. Except it landed on Eugene's head and broke there. :( Whooops.
• Mao sings, and Hilda plays friggin' cello.
• Exploring Donna's house in Babilograd, oh cod. You take a look at her laundry basket... OHGODWHATAREWEDOINGSHE'SRIGHTOVERTHERESTOPITMAO. You open up her cabinet to see what's inside... OHCODLAUNDRYWHATAREWEGOINGTOTELLHERRUNAWAYANNIE. Complete with exclamation points and all.
• Totally irrelevant to the rest of this: How the heck did they think that making Veigue's sprite rhythmically push up against a door would look like he's trying to break it down? Looked like doorrape to me. :( I couldn't... I couldnt stop myself from laughing. BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A SERIOUS MOMENT GUYS I MEAN THEY'RE EVEN TELLING HIM "STOP IT YOU'LL HURT YOURSELF" BUT HE KEEPS DOING IT. So wrooong.
Anyway, I'm at uh, Karegia Castle. It is time for the kureakureakureakureaKUREAAAAAAAAA! And now for the counts:
KUREAAAA: 109 (f yeah!)
Claire: 87 (Cod damn it Tytree stop saying her name!)
Saleh being fabulous: 12 (total disappointment.)
Creepy as fuck screams: 2 (Thank goodness! Those things seriously creep me out.)

• Geyorkias is a cocksucking asshole. On my first playthrough I would always die to his hiougi since nobody except for me ever tried guarding and I, as Tytree, did not have enough HP to survive it even then. I had to Veigue the place up and reserve my Life Bottles for reviving Annie and only Annie, since she probably had Rise Elixir at that point. Nooow... I didn't get a game over, but I used ALL of my life bottles on his various lasers, most of my Peach Gummies on those very same lasers, had to be Hilda to spam 3x damage Frigid Coffin and totally forgot about his hiougi... but it was okay, because Veigue somehow survived. Guess he was guarding this time. But ugh. Battle ended with a dead Tytree since I ran out of Life Bottles. Also, I found out why I like Geyorkias' voice so much. He's Ken'yuu Horiuchi. Durrr.
• I hate Zilva because she's a bitch but she really does act like she loves Agarte and that makes me want to trust her. :(
• I mentioned the fact that Hilda plays cello earlier. Now I realize why. Sayaka Ohara (her voice actress) also plays cello. I knew those three facts already, but I hadn't connected them yet. But it's like we're really supposed to be friends or something!
• KUREAAAA: 124, Claire: 103 (there's been a lot of unVeigue people talking about her a lot... I mean Saleh alone put that up by like 4, and cod knows what Agarte did when she was touching her), Saleh is Fabulous: 20 ("CLAIRE CLAIRE CLAIRE CLAIRE YOU SOUND LIKE AN IDIOT" is worth 5 points!), no new screams, but now a count for ヘドが出るよ！: 1. Saleh said it, yo.
