Old: Hexyz Force

I started Hexyz Force again (in English this time) and I'm up to where I was in the Japanese version on Cecilia's side now, and somewhere in Phase 2 on Levant's side. It's odd how differently the parties in each side seem to play. It's like in Cecilia's side, it's more about being defensive (aside from, of course, Lufina's amazing abilty to rape everything she touches). And then in Levant's side, you don't have anyone with healing skills or anything, but instead your characters are in general a lot stronger. It makes the battles go by a lot faster when I'm just tearing through enemies as fast I can without ruining my RP completely, compared to doing a lot of sitting around and waiting and recovering before finally finishing battles in Cecilia's side. Of course, part of that problem is that for the longest time you only have the two characters, neither of which are really good damage dealers.

Playing more Hexyz Force while I still have nothing better to do (well, there's always the option of continuing ToD2, but...). I'm on Phase 5 on Cecilia's Side, and I do not understand why people say Luffina is a bad character. Her damage (with anything other than Electro-Cute) IS kind of lacking unless you're fighting enemies that don't have decent whateverthedefensestatforforcewas, but she has multiple hit-all attacks.
And Electro-Cute is serious rape, especially when that randomstatbonus skill she has raises her Force. AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE. I usually cast Heroic Shield on characters with bad HP/defenses like Cecilia and Luffina. And I once had a boss steal that effect from them. Do you have any idea how obnoxious that would have been if I hadn't been using Luffina (who can just kill enemy stat bonuses without needing any weird Spirifacts)? I would kill myself. That's how obnoxious it would be. :(
Besides. Even if Luffina's no good, there's no reason not to use her as long as you're not wasting time with characters like Ignus (why did Atlus even do that what's wrong with Ignis). Seriously. Cecilia easily makes any damage dealt to you useless (giving you plenty of time to hop around with stars from your cape, dealing flimsy damage all the time) and Rafael just smashes anything, especially the things Luffina can't. I mean, just Gemini Boost yourself, bash the enemy with all the Breaks, then for true rape let him get hurt and don't heal him, and just use Dire Assault. No bosses so far have been able to handle 1000+ damage each turn for long, so...
I also love Philia. I mean, she's like an older Pamela (from Yggdra Union). She's got a bear on her hat. She has weeds growing on her staff. She lives in a giant worm in a "room" filled with cute things like teddy bears and pumpkins and weird... watermelon monster guys. Seriously.
I'm, uh, also on Phase 3 on Levant's Side, but I can't really remember what I'm supposed to be doing. So yeah. Guess I'll have to check a guide or something.

I played more Hexyz Force. I'm on Phase 7 now, and Luffina was totally dealing 900 damage to most enemies in Phase 6 with Ball Lightning, and she often did more. I find it hard to believe that she could possibly only do 300 to enemies in the final dungeon when her damage is just getting higher and higher. Except I guess the people who were claiming she did terrible damage were probably just too cowardly to spend the 29 or whatever RP on Ball Lightning every turn, thinking it's not worth it. It's ALWAYS worth it. Really. Besides, she has a lot of RP anyway, so by the time you get low (keeping in mind, of course, that one Ball Lightning will kill 80% of the enemies) you're probably about to level up/get to a Force Point anyway. [/whining about whiners]

I beat Hexyz Force on Tuesdayish, pretty much as planned. Only Cecillia's Side, though. BONDAGE TIME WAS A PRETTY ROUGH ATTACK YO. And the final boss made itself get raped. It kept doing too much damage to Rafael so it kept getting smacked with a 300~ HP Dire Assault. Which usually did 4000 damage. Yeah. And Luffina was doing 3000 with most Electro-Cute uses. I guess you can't go wrong with blue-haired people in this game. Also: "Creation is stupid. I won't let you do it!" makes my mind think of things that make no sense. But I found the quote funny. And this one: "Your IQ is like -190!" just because it was Cecillia who said it and she would be the one to think up such a boring insult to fling at someone when we're about to fight the final boss and save the world etc.

I beat Levant's Side in Hexyz Force yesterday. Finally! Also apparently on January 4th in 2010 I beat Cecilia's Side. Exactly a year difference! Also of course they put silvervine in Lygarwasser (totally some sort of replacement for beer for these... ligerpeople). I do find it funny though that I had no idea what silvervine was until I played Spectral Gene. All that matatabi Moria kept giving that catshopkeeper as payment for information made me look it up. :(
