mokasuiSpoilers through the whole game for Alicia. I also chose Marius for everything and comment on those scenes a few times, so if you want those to be a surprise then you probably shouldn't read this anyway. Spoilers for final final final boss of Eternal Poison/Poison Pink, too.

I started a game called Blue Roses. Its battle sprites are just ridiculously cute and well-animated. The animation reminds me of Pokemon Black/White with how smooth it is. The story is something about fairies hanging out in the Forest of Fairies, visible only to weird blue-eyed people, and we have to save them from Phantoms who will eat them or something. It's also like games like Bahamut Lagoon/Yggdra Union/VPDS in that it's an SRPG except then you attack and it's different suddenly. Out of the three I mentioned it's more like Bahamut Lagoon in actual combat (blah blah turn based blah) but you don't have set groups of people, it's people you choose that are close by before you initiate.
I chose the girl, Alicia (or Aricia, as the save image and official site insist) for the main character and I feel like maybe that was a mistake even if she does look better than the guy. She's so loud all the time! I keep having to turn the volume down when she talks because she's always talking very loudly about completely ordinary things. Also this game has weird "food." Coffee Gum? Curry Bread? What is this nonsense! Although supposedly at least Coffee Gum actually exists in the real world.

• SO THIS GREN GUY IN WINDARIA IS REALLY SUSPICIOUS. Talking like he already met Alicia before when he obviously never did. But man, that bow he's wearing sure is fabulous. Except not really the proper colors to be called fabulous... I misuse words so what wanna fight about it?
• BURAKABU. No idea what his name should be. But he is ugly! And Claire was like, "ALICIA LOOK AT THAT! IT'S A PUPPY FAIRY SO CUUUUTE." It made me want to puke. And then Alicia betrayed me by going along with Claire's lies and talking about how fluffy it is. :(
• Alicia's crazy. Like I'm not positive since I'm illiterate, but I think she was touching Marius in inappropriate places when I chose to talk to him after the first Fountain of Illusion fight. He was very upset about this. It was in public. She should be in jail for this.
• OH BOY BURAKABU TELLS US ABOUT THE EVIL FAIRY GRENDYNE. SURE ISN'T GIVING AWAY THE EVIL VILLAIN'S CURRENT IDENTITY AT ALL. They fought him 17 years ago apparently, but Gren looks like he could be 17 today. Or younger. What did they do, reincarnate him? Also Gren actually shows up to interrupt the conversation. And nobody questions who that creepy kid is or why he's butting into srs discussion. Nope.
• This game actually has some pretty cool music. Like the field music in the first fight against Charlotte sure was cool. And you hear it more later but I don't remember this stuff. I wonder if I should buy the soundtrack some day.
• I sometimes wonder what the other conversations I can choose are like. I just keep choosing Marius because the stat boosts I get for choosing him seem to be better. There was one where Marius was like "WHO YOU CALLIN' GOOD FOR NOTHING? If anything, I'm... tsundere." Or as Google Translate says, "I am rather tsundere!" Alicia disagrees. I disagree with her face though and I am a fan of this rather tsundere Marius person. And he has the same voice actor as Shichika so that is cool.
• Gren says he likes flowers after asking Alicia about flowers. Yep. Final boss for sure.
• Sometimes I write things in my notes and don't realize how silly they are. "TAIHENTAIHENTAIHENTAIHENTAIHENDAYOOOOOOOO! Oh boy. Spazzycat fairy. MY BEST FRIEND PERHAPS? What?! Albion's in danger?! FUCK THE CAR GET IN IT WE GOTTA GO." I don't really know what it's supposed to mean, but I like it.
• Watching the Rafuren (Laughlen? whatever the tree enemies) run away after they attack is so goofy. It's like they suddenly grow legs of some sort and waddle awkwardly away in a hurry.
• PORU IS SO ADORABLE. I hate her name because I do not understand these names, but she is adorable. She equips pairs of stuffed animals which she throws in battle. So cute!
• So right after getting Bridget, I finally got Jack. First battle I used him in he was S1, so I couldn't actually see his weapon and I was like "what I thought he used swords where is it" and then in the second battle I used him in, he was the leader. His sword is like huge! http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/2993/photoon102511at448pm.jpg How could the game somehow hide a gigantic green sword from me?
• I like how Heath's attacks seem designed to shove the enemies face up his skirt. Yeah. EVERYONE LOOK AT MY PENIS.
• Screw Charlotte at the desert stage. :( I mean, she just kept sniping everyone with Curse Cloud or whatever. And that hurt and had ridiculous range. I mean I still won (I have never gotten a game over in this game) but it hurt and I hope I never have to deal with her again. I am sick of fighting her and Hamilton all the time anyway. Needs new enemies.
LEAF COOKIE, MAPLE COOKIE, HONEY COOKIE, PLAIN DONUTS, CREAM DONUTS, CHOCO DONUTS, COFFEE GUM, HERB GUM, LEMON GUM, WHITE GUM, FRUIT GUM, CURRY BREAD, ANPAN, ROLL CAKE, SHORTCAKE, CHEESECAKE. Can we stop it with the sweets yet? Soon these won't be healing our HP, they'll be giving us diabetes.

I went and continued Blue Roses because I was kind of depressed at the thought of being done with Dragon Shadow Spell forever (... even though I did like 6 playthroughs of the stupid thing already). I was actually really close to the end of the game, and beat it on, I believe, the same day I killed Nirvana in DSS.
Grendyne heads were awful. Well, mostly the middle one, ugh. The stupid whateverknight enemies would never die because Grendyne protected them from poison and the spelljerks kept healing them (and Grendyne. it hurts when Grendyne autoregens 500-700 HP and then gets healed for 400). To make matters worse, I was terrified the whole time that the game was going to pull an Eternal Poison on me and bring out THE MAIN BODY. But no, it was okay. Grendyne lost all his heads and didn't have anything else so it was okay. Izel had like, a billion hands and zombie breasts. Or something like that, I don't really remember because that game's designs were so traumatisingly awesome and horrifying.
I was actually pretty depressed to beat Blue Roses too. Because it's like. I beat Eternal Poison. I beat Dragon Shadow Spell. I beat Blue Roses. What's next? Flight-Plan's dead and Apollosoft just released a new game (some Ragnarok Tactics game that I might not care about). I did get Marius end, though, so I can at least be satisfied with infinite tsundere. Also I like Yoshimasa Hosoya. Fact. I'll probably just replay this some day and see if I can't get a bromance going with Marius and the other main.
