Poison Pink: Thazi's Route

mokasuiThis took me a while despite blazing through 80% of it in one sitting... More on that later, if anyone ever actually has the time/interest to read all of this garbage. Spoilers for the whole game I guess, though really just Thazi's route.
Love the reactions when Thazi and Retica get to the town (I don't even remember what it's actually called I'm a horrible person). Retica's just like WOW THANKS SOOOOO MUCH D. And Thazi's like "well, okay, though this is a p shitty town."
Also I kept messing up with my saves when I first started. :( It actually started when I messed up my saves finishing off Harshu's Tale. I saved before the final boss (battle prep screen) in the third slot instead of the second slot, which meant I couldn't save my clear data in the second slot because I wanted to load that to sell all my delicious skilled items for further playthroughs. So I saved in the third slot (unhappily), sold the items, started Thazi's route and was gonna save there. I only captured one Ignis Cochlea so I killed it for PP first (as I always do) then went to save and reload so I could get the rest of the data but I... I did not make two slots and saved over the one without thinking. Grr.
Why does Thazi get her class change at level 11, anyway? That's way too early for someone who's already awesome. I got mine when fighting Luna Belator. Also gosh, that stage. This jerk executed my Aqua Cochlea, and I failed to overkill him. Oh well, I wasn't about to restart and deal with his nonsense Bleed Attack again just for him and a single Aknis or whatever.
Thazi and Shapeshifter are so cute before the fight with him. I love these two so much. I mean I'm super exaggerating how cute and amusing they are but WHY NOT. Party/levels after Shapeshifter (come onnnn Ares join my party!):

Aether time. First fight went fabulously. I failed to overkill a Sylph, but eh. I just had no idea how much damage I was going to do with the one attack I used on the first one and accidentally killed him. But gosh, all these easy overkills are nice and calm, never scary...
But then Retica gets doubleraped by two Hecta Gigas right at the start of a different fight. I'm sorry, did I say but? This is actually normal and completely acceptable. Thazi and Raki can handle these enemies with great ease. No problem.
Really had a good time with the Exa Gigas boss fight, though. I barely blocked the Elfie of the left corner from going ahead and healing Exa Gigas. As in, if it could move one square closer it'd be healed. Then I just blasted it with Thazi for 298 damage (woo!) for the overkill. Raki's ZOC is lovely, though. It's how I stopped the jerk boss from oneshotting Thazi (which he definitely could -- I saw him do it on my previous attempt which went far worse because I attacked the lower enemies thinking I'd oneshot one of them but it didn't work out that way and I didn't know Exa Gias could onshot Thazi and I thought Raki would protect her anyway BUT NOPE). This is all because Pal Grakie or whatever has such awful range. 3 squares? Come on, that's just dangerous in the hands of anyone that isn't Ashley. ... I do like how Exa Gigas just hops out from somewhere in the sky in your first encounter with him in the battle, though.
oh man oh boy I wanna go for a beach adventure with MAAAAKURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROPUSU! YEAAAAH even though I don't know what Hastaruna or whatever is, which was an enemy on the other side. Oh well. Get your swimsuit on, Raki, we're going to the beach tonight.
... except it's like really neat looking foggy ice or something, with plants and water. And the BG looks like the BLAZING SKIES OF MUSPELLHEIM but that's just in the battle prep only probably plus this isn't Zangeki. Definitely never been to this stage before though.
... no seriously wtf the fire stays there are you serious Poison Pink are you serious
And then this Makurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrropusu on this stage just... he completely went out of his way to only hit the Gem Phantasm with the def up spell, totally avoiding hitting the Elfie with it. What a jerk!
Also Ares finally joined my party after that notabeach stage. Yes!
So it was time for Aqua Dragon/Arkanos. I was all excited for it and turned my TV's volume way up and stuff for the most badass song of the game (SISTER OF TROY) and then IT'S NOT FUCKING SISTER OF TROY PLAYING, AGAIN. Screw Thazi she's the worst she can't hear Sister of Troy when she really genuinely should fuck my life and every human being and Flight-Plan is an asshole company and. :( I mean this is the same boring song that plays against Shade Dragon as Olifen (and I believe Death Falx as Harshu). Ugh. Life is over.
But I love Aqua Dragon. So much. SO much. His spell animation! He totally does that EYYYYYYYY thing with his wings, man. Also takes 466 damage from Makflamme or whatever. -100 fire weak is really nice and kind. So I overkilled him fast and went to deal with the other half of the enemies, and when I'm down to the last one he's just all 「あの～、もうそろそろ戦闘を再開しませんか？」
Such a fuckin' cutie. Count me as an Aqua Dragon fangirl. Here's more. Among other things, he goes and says: そぉぅぅか JUST LIKE THAT.
Also the stage before Amirhage was so easy, gosh. I love this team so much aside from Retica. Can't I have Ashley instead of Retica? That would literally be the perfect team. Thazi, Raki, Ares, Harshu. Actually I'm lying, there are a lot of things I dislike about Raki. Namely that Ares was stronger than him even when she was at a lower level, and he can't use weapons so the skills you can attach to him are really limited. But what he is good at is tanking out hits like a boss.
Deus Fos time. Ares's Resgred couldn't break his Demon Aura. :( Oh well. He foolishly walked as third in a line with these other two enemies, so he got to eat Ratomakgred from Thazi and seriously screw these spell names what even are they. Ares got to succeed right after that anyway, by inflicting Bleed on the first try. But then he confused Raki so I flipped out a bit there... knew I didn't actually know how to read/recognize the kanji they use for Confuse but SOMEHOW found it through a process of elimination (terrible idea; it only worked because I happened to have an item that could cure Confuse BUT WHAT IF I DIDN'T).
But yeah, man, Bleed's the best. He didn't heal on his one turn and then took like over 100 damage from attacking and moving so I wrecked him next turn without having to deal with his annoying heals.
Also, I was actually typing that above paragraph in my notes while Thazi attacked him and when I looked back at the screen Deus Fos looked exactly like he always does, so I flipped out. Actually said "WHAT?!" out loud, somehow not disturbing my mother in the other room, and y'know I guess I ahd totally forgotten that he only had 8 HP so there was no way I could possibly fail to overkill him without ending the stage, because I thought I somehow did. But nope, he just... looks that way. Okay. Cleaned up the rest of the enemies.
OH BOY GLYNNE'S AI. On his first turn, he speedboosts. Second turn, he uses some Arma thing. Since they're both physical status, new ones cancel out the old ones. WHAT A LOSEEEEEEEER. Levels after fightan Harshu:

My gosh, the first fight straightpathing the dark side of the third stratum... So rough. Killed all enemies after the first half with just Thazi and Ares. Really surprised Raki ended up dying. They just wouldn't stop attacking him with spells and I couldn't keep up since Retica died so fast.
Duphaston talking all threatily to Retica. dang. That was good. DO IT AGAIN. LET ME HEAR IT AGAIN. I uh sorta like his voice a lot, okay. Man, for this next fight though, I really have to remember that Thazi does have other spells that I stuck on her AND that her rank for most of those elements IS good. Like Wind is friggin' S rank.
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. I speedboost Ares on her first turn and then enxt turn she gets, she always goes twice in a row, I swear. It's like, forget your couch, Chiroptera horse. ... I lost Raki fast though. Those Heeflers, man.
Sigh. Pre-Death Falx stage. So I super strategically maneuver this rough stage and kill all but the last Lapis Cure, right? And I've got this glorious plan from dealing like 360-something to the first one when I killed it. I'm like, "I can just use Makugred twice for the easy overkill" and then I use it at the end AND IT DOES OVER 400 GOD DAMN I MUST HAVE LEVELLED UP UGH. All that work... gone!
So I figured I should just overkill one right at the start and murder the Thiefler. If it gets released by the other I can always remurder it instantly, or mess that one up instead. And then I Just decided I'd leave an overkilled Lapis Cure and a living Lapis cure around. That's how to do it. Yeah. Also Ares being able to use spears is really nice, even if spears stink.
Okay, so second attempt of this stage... I thought I only had to capture one of the Lapis Cures or whatever but I actually had to do both. HARSHU AND HER LIES MEANS I HAVE TO DO THIS STAGE AGAIN BECAUSE I MESSED UP, AGAIN.
And then I couldn't hit this Thiefler or the Armajerks and he keeps Fearattacking us and. :( I don't even know how I did it, but I actually did succeed on this third try. Wow. I don't think I've ever had so much trouble with this stage.
I did not overkill Death Falx but I pretty much expected that going in. Besides, straightpathing dark path as Thazi is just. Uuuugh. Can't even switch at this point because I need to fight Leorex but won't be able to get back for him. :( Too many people here resist Dark AND Fire. Really bad for Thazi. REALLY bad.
Confusing Chiroptera is really great though, man. I mean, he's going after this Ek Aknis so he's like "K IMMA GO BEHIND YEWW K?" and the Aknis just steps aside politely so he can go behind him and backattack him for 200. COMEDY GOLD.
That King Bellion stage, though. I was just rockin' it, stalling with Raki (and trying to bleed Bellion, which did succeed) and Retica while I sent Thazi/Ares/Citra off to the side with the hopes of killing the three enemies ove rthere. Going swimmingly, right? Ares gets hurt and it's time to fight the Chiroptera, so I figure Imma try Absorb Attack. It does so gloriously it freezes the game.
Oh well. I go through again and capture Leorex/King Bellion again, like I have every single time. I don't even know how this guy is so weak. Really. I wasted all my wind spells trying to bleed him and then I'm like "well the best I have is water now" AND IT WORKS. This guy will never be loved. Party before final boss:

So yeah final boss right? Rage was induced. Because Absorb Attack froze the game again against him. So both times I've used it on this copy the game has frozen. Okay. I just won't use it again. OR SO I THINK. I accidentally select it instead of Bleed Attack on my second attempt and YEP THE GAME FREEZES. Decide I'm just removing the skill from Ares entirely.
Sooo third attempt. I summon an Ek Aranea because that's just what I do and IT HAS ABSORB ATTACK. Stop it game just stop :(
Final comments: The animation for Thazi's special attack is so cool I love it and the reason it took me so long to complete/post this was, yes, because of Absorb Attack freezing my game at awful times.
